After many years of decorating,designing and planning events for friends and non-profits, I discovered I had a natural eye for floral arranging and design. I wanted to create something different and special. I test drove some designs on family and friends and they loved them!!  So, with little money and a lot of ingenuity and grit I created Silks and Shells. A female, minority owned business, where every design has a special meaning and no two designs are the same. 

I've lived on the shoreline most of my life and so incorporating shells in the design seemed appropriate. They're special because the customer’s desires are built into the design. They can choose the colors, size, and type of floral and we customize them to fit the occasion. 

Although Silks and Shells is a for profit business, supporting the community is part of our business plan. Upon request Silks and Shells donates to local non profit organizations
